11.30.04: The 2005 UCF O-Team has been announced! According to the Orientation Services website, "Orientation Team members serve as peer educators, peer advisors, group facilitators, performers, resource persons, and role models to new freshmen, their families, and transfer students. The O-Team is selected based on their academic achievements and leadership skills." Eleven of the 32 selected are LEAD Scholars::

11.16.04: Second-year LEAD Scholars Amber Hand and Megan Murphy were featured in an article in the Central Forida Future about a women's art show they arranged at Austin Coffee and Film in Winter Park this week as part of their LEAD Scholars Women's Studies Practicum. Very cool!

Kristine Gundayao, Miss Phillippines America 200411.06.04: First-year LEAD Scholar Kristine Gundayao went to Virginia Beach, Virginia to compete in the 20th Annual Miss Philippines America Pageant 2004 last Saturday, November 6. She won! She received four additional trophies in addition to her title trophy in academics, best gown, best talent, and best overall combined interview. She also won a trip to the Philippines. In the Future article linked above, Chrstine credited her involvement with LEAD Scholars with "making (her) more outgoing and teaching (her) what leadership really is". Congratulations, Christine!

4.24.03: LEAD graduate Tim Ford was commended in this article about his sportsmanship on the UCF baseball team. True Leadership!
